HSEQ
A commitment to H&S
At the core of Cleaner Group is its dedication to safety, depicted by its zero accidents culture. With a project portfolio extending across green and brown field EPC HV projects worldwide, Cleaner Group is renowned for its commitment to delivering projects on time, safely and in line with budgets.
Our values and safety charter
Our safety charter enables us to truly live our core values. As leaders in health and safety, we will:
- Be mindful of all workers on every project and empower them so they can stop unsafe practices.
- Take extra time and care when proactively planning for people’s safety.
- Demonstrate commitment to the safety vision, using safety communications and processes.
- Provide a comprehensive induction programme for new workers.
- Promote a positive, healthy lifestyle both inside and outside of work and increase mental health awareness.
- Conduct continuous reviews of supply chain partners performance; communicate with their leadership and personnel, and seek their opinions on possible improvements in safety that could be implemented.
- Reward and recognise high performance in safety behaviours aligned with this charter for both Cleaner Group staff and supply chain partners.
- Put safety ahead of budget and schedule – no excuses.
- Participate in regular safety walk-downs on project sites, involving our supply chain partners’ leadership teams, and engaging with site workers.
- Implement zero tolerance for clear breaches in safety and hold ourselves accountable for our team’s overall safety performance.

Health and safety management system
Health, safety and wellbeing protocols are structured and aligned to our ISO 45001:2018 certification. We have a robust Health and Safety Policy and our accredited Health and Safety Management system holds all our health and safety documentation and underpins our delivery strategy to ensure a proactive approach to health and safety from both our management and staff.
The management system is subject to auditing both internally by trained, competent internal auditors, and externally by Certification Bodies. During the life of a project, the internal auditors, are responsible for carrying out at least one site compliance audit to verify compliance with:
- Statutory and Regulatory Requirements.
- Cleaner Group Integrated Management System.
- Client requirements.
This information is analysed on a regular basis to review compliance and identify areas for improvement. Non-conformance trends are analysed to identify the key causes for the trends and improvement action programmes are implemented with the objective of improving performance in the relevant areas of non- conformance.
Environment, Social and Governance (ESG)
Cleaner Group is a certified Carbon Neutral Organisation, committed to being environmentally responsible with a driving ambition to continually foster sustainable initiatives.
Cleaner Group believes that ESG issues do not exist in a silo. ESG is about bringing them together under one banner to demonstrate the positive impact we can have on the world. For this we have adapted the slogan ‘ESG is me’, this shows that everyone in the company irrespective of their role, level, location, ESG is a part of what they do in their day-to-day jobs and lives. We believe that individuals can make real positive differences, and all action no matter the size has a collective measure for positive change.
Cleaner Group is committed to being an industry leader in ESG and Sustainability. As a result, we have created an ESG Committee. The purpose of this is to oversee and drive the company’s efforts in integrating and promoting environmental, social, and governance considerations throughout its operations. The committee plays a crucial role in advancing sustainability initiatives and fostering a culture of responsible business practices within the organisation.
People, Planet, Purpose
Our ESG Strategy ensures all three pillars are represented and all people across the company can participate and make real impact.
To support this, Cleaner Group believes in the education and upskilling of our staff. This is demonstrated through our Annual ESG Awareness Month, a cornerstone of our engagement strategy. This month-long initiative emphasises the crucial role employees play in driving sustainable change, by highlighting the direct impact of individual actions on sustainability performance and the environment.
Through events, workshops, interactive carbon reduction challenges, and an ESG podcast, this initiative educates the project team and the broader company audience, empowering them to contribute proactively to sustainability efforts.
